Thursday brought a slight shift in the schedule, with a shorter day for the 370 course due to their practicums. However, for the 375 class, it was a more relaxed and laid-back session, allowing us to focus on specific topics and provide additional support.

To kick off the session, we reminded the students about their upcoming debate topics and emphasized the importance of starting early on their debate project. Recognizing the significance of research, we dedicated some time to instructing the class on how to effectively utilize OhioLink, an invaluable resource for accessing scholarly materials. Additionally, we reviewed the proper formatting guidelines for an APA paper, ensuring that the students were well-equipped with the necessary skills for academic writing.

Afterwards, we allocated time for the students to locate at least one credible source to support their debate paper and presentation. Encouraging independent research, we emphasized the importance of sourcing reliable information to strengthen their arguments and enhance the overall quality of their work.

Moving forward, we shifted gears to focus on test preparation. We organized the students into groups to collaboratively complete the study guide, fostering a sense of camaraderie and encouraging active engagement with the course material. As they worked together, we facilitated discussions, clarifying concepts, and ensuring that all students had a solid grasp of the correct answers. The dedication and enthusiasm displayed by the students were inspiring, as they even expressed a desire to stay a little longer to ensure that they had accurately completed the study guide.

This session allowed us to not only cover essential topics but also provide valuable guidance and support to the students. By instilling effective research skills, reinforcing proper formatting guidelines, and facilitating collaborative review sessions, we aimed to empower the students to excel in their assignments and assessments.
