Thursdays are typically shorter days for Dr. Tiell and myself , as Grade 370 students, have practicums and do not attend class. On this particular Thursday, our focus in 375 was on reviewing for an upcoming test. To facilitate effective studying and encourage collaboration, the class allocated a significant portion of the session for students to work together on the study guide. This allowed them to learn from one another, clarify any doubts, and consolidate their understanding of the material.
The class reassembled after about 45 minutes of group work to make sure everyone understood the study guide completely and had the right answers. This stage was designed to help students review important ideas and pinpoint any areas that may require more explanation or study. The class created a supportive learning atmosphere where students could rely on each other to complete the study guide together.
Following the completion of the study guide, the students were given the opportunity to leave class a little early. This gesture acknowledged their dedication and hard work, providing them with a brief break before their next commitments. Before dismissing the class, a reminder was given about the approaching deadline for their debate papers, which were due that upcoming Sunday. This reminder allowed students to ask any last-minute questions and seek clarification if needed, ensuring they were well-prepared to submit their assignments on time.
