Today is Fall break, so there are no classes scheduled. However, since both of my classes recently turned in significant assignments, I decided to take advantage of the day off by grading them. This was my first time grading papers, so it took me much longer than usual to complete the task. To start, I began by assessing whether the students met the requirements for APA formatting, which turned out to be a quick and straightforward process.
After ensuring that the papers met the formatting guidelines, I delved into the core content of each submission. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the papers were well-written and demonstrated that most students had invested a considerable amount of time and effort into their research. The overall quality of the papers was surprisingly good, which is quite encouraging since the students will be using these papers as a foundation for their upcoming presentations, which are scheduled to commence after the Fall break.
In another course, specifically 370, the students were required to submit their journals documenting their practicum experiences. This task was comparatively quicker than grading the papers in 375. For each student, there were only seven journals to review. To begin, I ensured that they had submitted all seven journals and that each journal met the specified word count requirement. After that, I thoroughly reviewed the content of the journals, ensuring that the students accurately reflected on their experiences encountered during the first seven weeks of the semester.
