As we reached Week 7, the semester had reached its halfway mark for both 375 and 370. Interestingly, neither class had a traditional midterm examination scheduled. Instead, the students were assigned projects that would serve as alternative assessments. In 375, the students were diligently working on their debate papers, while in 370, they were busy preparing their journals based on their practicum experiences.

In 375, the class deviated slightly from its usual routine during this week. The day began with engaging class discussions centered around recent sports headlines, providing an opportunity for students to analyze and share their perspectives on current events. Following this, students partnered up to dive into research on various broadcasting networks, exploring their structure, content, and impact. The class then returned to its regular routine, with a chapter video and lecture video to reinforce the course material. Towards the end of the class, the students were reminded about an upcoming review session scheduled for Thursday, encouraging them to prepare beforehand.

In 370, Dr. Tiell addressed the midterm grades due to some students struggling in their performance. This discussion provided an opportunity for students to reflect on their progress and seek guidance on areas for improvement. The class then transitioned into the unit on resumes, building on the work done earlier in the semester when students completed their initial draft resumes. This deep dive into resumes aimed to help students identify and rectify any mistakes or shortcomings, allowing them to earn back points by applying the skills and insights gained during this unit. Additionally, the class had the privilege of a guest speaker, Ryan Paul, for their Ten Minute Tuesday session, providing valuable insights and expertise on a relevant topic.
