​​Today marked a significant milestone in my mentorship journey with Dr. Bonnie Tiell as we had our first official meeting to discuss the upcoming semester's courses. To ensure a seamless exchange of ideas, we scheduled a Zoom meeting that provided us with the opportunity to delve into various responsibilities and expectations for the semester.

During our discussion, Dr. Tiell entrusted me with a pivotal role in the SMG 375 class, where I would assume the main lead for Sports Governance. This responsibility came with a range of duties that included grading assignments for both courses, serving as a point of contact for students to address any questions or concerns they may have, and eventually crafting comprehensive lesson plans for both classes.

Additionally, I would play a vital role in organizing and facilitating Ten Minute Tuesdays, a platform for brief presentations or discussions related to the subject matter. This involved setting up Zoom meetings, ensuring attendance was recorded accurately, and effectively managing the technological aspects within the classroom.

To equip me with the necessary tools for success, Dr. Tiell guided me through the Moodle shell, an online platform that serves as a central hub for course materials and communication. We explored different features such as the grade book, enabling me to grasp how assignments are submitted and reviewed, as well as gaining insights into student activity and participation.

Following our meeting, I independently familiarized myself with the various aspects of the Moodle shell. This proactive approach enabled me to navigate the platform with confidence, ensuring a smooth transition when courses officially commenced.

As I reflect on this productive session, I am grateful for Dr. Tiell's guidance and trust in entrusting me with substantial responsibilities. This experience has not only deepened my understanding of course management but also instilled in me a sense of purpose and determination to excel in my role as a mentorship participant. I eagerly anticipate the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, knowing that with Dr. Tiell's support, I am well-prepared to embark on this enriching journey.
