No SMG 370 - Day 7

Today's class consisted solely of SMG 375, as SMG 370 students began their practicums. It turned out to be a relatively easy day, primarily focused on reviewing the materials for chapter two. We started by watching several videos that provided additional insights into the chapter's content, enhancing our understanding of the subject matter. Following the videos, we engaged in lively class discussions, addressing the end-of-chapter questions and sharing our perspectives on the topics at hand.

After the class session, I made myself available to students who had questions regarding worksheet 1, which is due on Sunday. I stayed behind, ensuring that I could provide them with the necessary guidance and clarification to complete the assignment successfully. Being present to support the students after class allows me to further contribute to their learning experience and address any concerns they may have.

Meanwhile, with the start of practicums in SMG 370, Dr. Tiell requested that I stay around for a little while to assist any students who might show up and require assistance. It is important to ensure that they receive the support they need, whether it be clarifying course-related questions or providing guidance in navigating their practicum experiences. By being available, I can contribute to the smooth transition into this practical phase of their learning journey.

As the semester progresses, I am becoming more comfortable in my role as a mentor and teaching assistant. The opportunity to engage with students, both inside and outside the classroom, allows me to make a positive impact on their educational journey. By providing guidance, answering questions, and offering support, I hope to foster a productive and enriching learning environment for each student I interact with.
